Woman, man sought in alleged robbery
The Delaware State Police are searching for a woman in connection with the robbery of a man she met at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.
The woman exchanged phone numbers with a man she met there and then asked him to meet her at the corner of White Oak Road and Route 13, said Sgt. Joshua Bushweller, spokesman for the Delaware State Police.
The woman then asked the man to drive her to Donas Landing Road and when they arrived, there was a man waiting for them, Bushweller said.
The woman and the man she met at Donas Landing Road then robbed the other man at gunpoint, took his belongings and fled in his black 2008 Dodge Charger with tinted windows and Delaware tag 149153.

Midnight crash near Milford claims life
A midnight crash Sept. 13 on South Bowers Road east of Mosley Road in Milford resulted in the death of a 35-year-old Milford man.
Thomas Webb of South Bowers Road was killed when his pickup truck drove into the oncoming lane and ran headlong into another pickup truck, said Cpl. Jeffrey Whitmarsh, spokesman for the Delaware State Police.
The driver of the other pickup was Cory Calhoun, 18, of Milford who was charged with driving under the influence and underage consumption. Two other passengers in his vehicle were charged with underage consumption, Whitmarsh said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Man fends off attacker with cane
A 37-year-old man who allegedly was going to rob two people walking along Court Street was thwarted when one raised his cane at him.
The man lifted his shirt to show the two walkers a handgun tucked into his waistband, but before he could demand money, the one lifted his cane in defense, said Lt. James Hosfelt, spokesman for the Dover Police Department.
The would-be hold-up man then ran off, Hosfelt said.
Police arrested Tyrone Walker, of Pardonstale Lane, and charged him with two counts of first-degree attempted robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of felony.
He was committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $30,000 secured bond.
Milford teen killed after crash on Henry Cowgill Road
A Milford teen was killed early morning Sept. 13 when she ran off Henry Cowgill Road and overturned several times.
Amber Nell, 18, was ejected from the car and died as a result of injuries from the crash, said Cpl. Jeffrey Whitmarsh, spokesman for the Delaware State Police.
Truck runs into Woodleytown Road pole resulting in electric outage
A truck driven by a Philadelphia man plowed into a utility pole along Woodleytown Road Saturday afternoon knocking out electricity for 10 hours for some residents.
Michael Nelson, 49, was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran into the pole, said Cpl. Jeffrey Whitmarsh, spokesman for the Delaware State Police.
The crash affected five utility poles in total and closed the road for several hours, Whitmarsh said. Residents didn’t regain power until about midnight.
Nelson was charged with unsafe speed, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and driving without insurance.
DOC walkaways apprehended
A couple of prisoners who failed to return to their respective facilities have been caught.
On June 7, Alan Donoway, 25, of Dover, failed to return to the Sussex Community Corrections Center. He was apprehended Sept. 11 by Newark Police, said Department of Correction spokesman John Painter.
Donaway was on an authorized pass from the corrections center when he disappeared, Painter said. He had been serving a sentence for delivery of narcotics.
He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown.
Anthony Stevens, 28, of Dover failed to return to the Morris Community Corrections Center where he was serving a first-degree robbery charge, Painter said. He was apprehended on Sept. 12 and is being held at the Vaughn Correctional Center.
Marijuana plants found in Wesley dorm room
Wesley College security, conducting a dorm check early morning Sept. 13 at Malmberg Hall, found marijuana plants in a room resulting in the arrest of two students.
In addition, security found 5.9 grams of marijuana and several bongs used for smoking, said Lt. Paul Bernat, spokesman for the Dover Police Department.
Police arrested Garrent Peed, 18, and Bryan Gorham, 19, both of Dover, and charged them with manufacturing marijuana, maintaining dwelling for the sale of marijuana, second-degree conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Both were released on $4,000 unsecured bond.
Man charged with breaking into home
A man who allegedly broke into a vacant home Sept. 13 and removed some items was arrested by Dover police.
Police arrested Arthur Stoneking, 44, of Hollets Corner Road, Clayton, and charged him with second-degree burglary and theft.
He was released on $1,050 unsecured bond.
