Delaware State Police reconstruction teams continue to piece together the cause of a two-vehicle collision Nov. 10 that claimed the lives of six people.
“The reconstruction team is going out today to get a better look at the cause of the accident,” said Cpl. Bruce Harris, spokesman for the Delaware State Police. He was not sure how long it will take but said he expects the results soon.
The crash occurred at 3:35 p.m. on Carpenter Bridge Road just east of Roesville Road near Frederica and in the vicinity of ILC Dover, Inc.
Two sport utilities were driving in opposite directions along the two-lane non-divided roadway when they collided head on, Harris said.
Both vehicles burst into flames on impact killing five occupants in a 1999 Ford Explorer and the driver of a 2004 Ford Explorer.
Kelly D. Rinaldi, 36, of Harrington and her four children, Jacob Rinaldi, 15, Jessup Crow, 5, Kyle Crow, 5, and Kaylee Crow, 7, all of Harrington, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second SUV, Michael E. Miller, 34, of Frederica, also died in the crash.
