An 11-year-old girl was arrested by Dover Police after two knives were found in her bookbag.

The discovery was made Oct. 6 at the Campus Community School, at 21 N. Bradford St. According to documents requested from Justice of the Peace Court No. 7, Dover, the student, identified as Katherine Young of the 100 block of Matthew Court, Dover, had showed the weapons to other students, who then notified the school staff.

One knife had an 8 1/4-inch blade, according to the warrant of probable cause, while the other had a 5 1/2-inch blade.

Young was charged with a single count of possession of a deadly weapon in a safe school zone, which is a felony. She is pending an appearance in Kent County Family Court.
