The Dover Police Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the robbery of a local liquor store that resulted in an assault on the store clerk.
The robbery took place at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 27 at Driftwood Spirits, located at 153 S. Bradford St., said police spokesman Lt. Steve Getek.
According to their investigation, a man entered the the business and demanded the employee open the register. The suspect then began to assault the employee with his fists and then with a bottle from a nearby display. The employee opened the register and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned man with a thin goatee and mustache.
The Dover Police Department has obtained still photographs from surveillance video that was taken during the robbery. Further description shows the suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatwhirt wth a blue shirt underneath the sweatshirt and a black baseball cap.
