A Dover woman and a man from Clayton have been hospitalized with serious injuries following a Thursday night collision near Cheswold.
The accident occurred at 7:04 p.m. July 8 at the intersection of Seeneytown and Seven Hickories roads, said Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Bruce W. Harris.
The injured persons were identified as Lauren E. Luzier, 18, of Dover, who was at the wheel of a 1997 Toyota, and Francis J. Riccio, 50, of Clayton, driving a Chevrolet Silverado.
Harris said Luzier’s vehicle was halted at a stop sign on the northbound side of the intersection when it pulled out in front of the Silverado, which had the right of way.
Luzier was taken to Christiana Hospital, Newark, where she was admitted in critical condition with major, although unspecified injuries.
Riccio was taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital and admitted in serious condition.
Luzier’s passengers, Alexandria Luzier, 15, and Jennifer Lyons, 15, both of Dover, were treated at Kent General for minor injuries, as was Riccio’s passenger, Vincent M. O’Donnell Jr., 21, of Claymont.
Police are continuing their investigation into the crash and more information will be released as soon as it becomes available, Harris said.
