A woman and her boyfriend were allegedly shot dead by the woman’s ex-boyfriend Nov. 9 in the master bedroom of her General’s Greene residence.
Delaware State Police almost immediately identified their suspect as Damion Neal, 32, and began a search for him, said police spokesman Cpl. Jeffrey Whitmarsh.
A few hours earlier, Whitmarsh said troopers had responded to the home in connection with a domestic dispute wherein Neal had confronted the ex-girlfriend, Tonessa Barlow, about not answering his phone calls.
Neal allegedly damaged Barlow’s front door and fled when she called 911. Police then searched for him at his known hangouts and even spoke to him on the cell phone at one point but Whitmarsh said they were unable to find him.
Whitmarsh said Neal borrowed a friend’s car and returned a few hours later. He allegedly entered the house and went to the master bedroom where he shot and killed Barlow and her new boyfriend, Richard Tollson, 29, of Dover.
Neal then fled to the Baltimore area where authorities from the Maryland police and the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force arrested him.
Neal is being held at a central Baltimore detention center awaiting extradition to Delaware.
