A Dover Police spokesman said a bouncer at a local bar received a minor injury after a patron assaulted him.
The incident took place at 11:36 p.m. Nov. 18 at Irish Mike’s Bar, located at 107 W. Loockerman St., said police spokesman Lt. Paul Bernat. The bouncer, whose name was not provided, was escorting the man out of the bar when the suspect, identified as Dakota W. Dunwoodie of the 2400 block of Kitts Hummock Road, grabbed a beer bottle, broke it against a wall, and hit the bouncer with it, Bernat said.
Dunwoodie was taken into custody after resisting arrest, Bernat added.
Dunwoodie was charged with assault, possession of a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, terroristic threatening and resisting arrest. He was jailed at the Vaughn Correctional Center, near Smyrna, in default of a $17,200 secured bond.
