A Dover High School student was arrested by the school resource officer after he was found carrying a bag of marijuana, said Dover Police Department spokesman Lt. Steve Getek.
The student, identified as D’Andre Chandler, 17, of the unit block of Stevenson Drive, was taking off a sweatshirt when a teacher observed a plastic bag tucked into the waistband of his pants, Getek said. Chandler tried to hid the drugs in another student’s handbag, but the plastic bag was retrieved and found to contain marijuana already packaged for sale, Getek added.
Chandler was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to his mother pending an appearance in Kent County Family Court.
