Officers with the Stafford County, Va., sheriff’s office have arrested a Dover man on suspicion of dealing in child pornography.
George Louis Woodrum, 69, of the 2000 block of Forrest Ave., was taken into custody Nov. 12, said sheriff’s office spokesman Bill Kennedy.
Woodrum allegedly had been asking inappropriate questions of a local 13-year-old girl, which brought the case to the attention of the sheriff’s department, Kennedy said. A detective assumed the girl’s identity on her email account, after which Woodrum began to ask for explicit photographs as well as requesting they have sex.
Woodrum then traveled from Dover to Virginia to meet the girl, but he was arrested when he arrived at her home, Kennedy said.
Delaware State Police authorities are asking anyone who might have been approached by Woodrum contact the Stafford County sheriff by calling 540-658-4400; or Delaware State Police at 302-697-2104, ext. 309.
