A new restaurant recently began pouring drinks and serving burgers at the Woodside Plaza off Route 13.
Michelle Stabley, business co-owner, took a few minutes on Oct. 8 to answer a few questions about The Green Stinger Sports Bar and Grill, which opened on Sept. 11 in the space that was once occupied by Cody’s Restaurant.
Q: Why did you decide to open this business?
I worked at the Walter L. Fox American Legion Post No. 2 for a while, and I enjoyed working with people as part of my work. My business partner Erin Sebastian and I found this location, and it had been a while since people in this area had a nice bar and restaurant.
Q: What kind of food and atmosphere does The Green Stinger provide?
We completely redid the inside of the bar and added three front windows, installed new bathrooms, changed the carpet, and redid the bar to match the rest of the inside.
The Green Stinger is primarily a restaurant, and we understand the economic times. We were careful to keep the prices low to allow for this to be a place where hard-working people can go out and have a nice meal. Here, they can get a $2 draft and $5 burger.
The menu includes our soon-to-be-famous stuffed burgers that are filled with bacon and different types of cheese. There are also cheese steaks, hoagies, steaks, and build-your-own sliders. The Green Stinger serves lunch, as well as dinner.
Q: What entertainment does your business offer customers?
There are live bands from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturdays, and we have booked a variety of local bands through January. There’s also a pool table and big-screen televisions where people can watch football and other sports games.
