Cash-strapped consumers have an option for quick funds with A Source Financial Services Inc.

    “Business is booming,” said store manager Von Combs. “A lot has to do with the economy. Banks just aren’t loaning money.”

    The business began operating at 178A North DuPont Highway a few months ago and provides small loans from $100 to $1,000 with no credit check.

    Documents necessary to receive the loans include a recent pay stub, utility bill, driver’s license, Social Security card, checking account bank statement no more than two weeks old and a checkbook.

    It costs $20 for every $100 borrowed and the check written from the person’s checking account for the amount is held for collateral, Combs said.

    “Once they come in and pay the loan, we give their check back,” he said.

    Combs welcomes customers from both Delaware and Maryland including repeat customers and referrals. He said he bought AAA Cash4U in December of 2007 and welcomes its former customers.

    A customer appreciation day for new loans opened will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15, at the North DuPont location.

    “Customers will qualify for giveaways including Wawa and Walmart gift cards and refreshments will be served,” Combs said.
