Norman E. Singleton was arrested Wednesday.

A Smyrna man, out of prison on probation, is back behind bars after his arrest on drug and other charges.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman identified the suspect as Norman E. Singleton, 40; records show Singleton’s last known address was in Smyrna.

He was arrested at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in a room at the Dover Inn at 428 N. Dupont Highway.

Dover police assisted officers with Delaware Probation and Parole during an administrative search of Singleton’s room at the motel, and seized 5.3 grams of crack cocaine, packaged for sale in 23 baggies.

As a result, he is charged with single counts of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a child and violation of his probation.

He was confined at the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $6,500 secured bond and a $10,000 cash bond.
