The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested a Dover man on probation on firearm and drug charges.
Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at about 10:06 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 as officers conducted a curfew check at the home of the suspect, 53-year-old Nathan Ward of the 200 block of North Kirkwood St.
Officers conducted an administrative search when they spotted marijuana in plain view, seizing 279.5 grams of marijuana, 126 0.5 mg Alprazolam pills, 157 1.0 mg Alprazolam pills, one Oxycodone pill, about 0.6 grams of crack cocaine, two digital scales, packaging material, around 100 rounds of .22-caliber ammunition, about 23 rounds of 20-guage ammunition, a Savage Arms .22-caliber/20-guage “over under” shotgun and $6,070 in suspected drug proceeds.
Ward is charged with possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited, three counts of possession with intent to deliver, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of his probation.
He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $36,250 cash bond.
