Two men have been charged with shooting two males, a 19-year-old from Dover and a 17-year-old from Smyrna, Monday night in Smyrna. Both victims are in stable condition.

Two Smyrna men have been charged with shooting a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy Monday night on Baldwin Drive in Smyrna.

Both victims were taken to a hospital where they remain in stable condition with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities, said Smyrna Police Cpl. Brian Donner.

The 19-year-old is from Dover and the 17-year-old is from Smyrna.

Donner said Smyrna police detectives have worked around the clock since being alerted to the shooting in the 400 block of Baldwin Drive Monday at about 10 p.m.

On Tuesday, Donner announced the arrests of Jeffrey T. Thomas, 20, and Devante Blocker, 20, both of North Fairfield Drive, Smyrna, who have been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of first-degree reckless endangering, first-degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief over $1,000 and poss of drug paraphernalia.

Thomas was presented before Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $80,201 secured bond while awaiting another court appearance.

Blocker was also presented in Justice of the Peace Court 7 where he was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $27,201 secured bond while awaiting another court appearance.

Investigators do not believe there are any other suspects, Donner said.
