Zacharia Gilbert was arrested Oct. 29 while sitting on a porch on South Queen Street

A Dover man who allegedly skipped probation has been arrested after he was found sitting on a porch in the city.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Zachariah Gilbert, 25, was taken into custody Oct. 29 at a home in the first block of South Queen Street.

Gilbert was arrested when an officer found him carrying crack cocaine and marijuana packaged for sale; two handguns were found inside the home, Hoffman said.

Gilbert is charged with four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited as well as single counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $25,250 cash bond.
