KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering, consulting and construction firm with offices nationwide, announced the promotion of Peter H. Bourne to vice president.

Bourne is a practice leader for construction management, where he oversees transportation improvement and public works projects throughout Delaware.

Bourne’s career spans more than three decades in large-scale program and project management for public and private sector clients. His expertise includes the design, construction inspection and administration, and permitting for transportation, water and wastewater and stormwater management projects. Since joining the firm in 2012, he has doubled his staff by successfully pursuing major contracts with the Delaware Department of Transportation. His team is currently providing construction engineering and inspection services for the roadway improvements and widening of multiple segments of U.S. Route 301 as well as improvements to the Interstate 95 and state Route 141 interchange.

“Peter leads KCI’s largest and most financially strong construction engineering and inspection practice,” said Senior Vice President and Discipline Manager Bryan R. Lawson. “Over the last five years, he has grown his team, developed and mentored new managers, and broadened his contract and client opportunities.”

Bourne earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland and is a registered professional engineer. He is active in several industry organizations, including membership in the American Society of Highway Engineers, Maryland Municipal League and the Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities, and serving on the American Council of Engineering Companies of Delaware’s Transportation Committee.
