Silver Lake Commission Chair Tricia Arndt is encouraging the public to attend the annual cleanup event, set for 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at Silver Lake Park, Washington Street, Dover.

The commission is looking for members of the community to help clean up the park along the public access areas to the lake. Clubs, Scout troops, church groups and individuals are welcome.

The Silver Lake Park area is made up of 182 acres. The Silver Lake Commission and Dover partner each fall to host cleanup events to beautify the park and improve water quality within the lake and the St. Jones watershed. Volunteers are needed to help with trash pickup, remove debris fallen from trees and bushes and general park cleanup.

Registration is requested by Oct. 10 to 736-7050 or in-person at the John W. Pitts Recreation Center, 10 Electric Ave., Dover.
