The wounded have been treated at Bayhealth Hospital, Dover.
Officers with the Dover Police Department have arrested 22-year-old Marquis Harris of Dover in connection with the Sept. 8 shooting of two people.
Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said detectives developed Harris as a suspect and on Oct. 2 members of the First State Fugitive Task Force arrested him in Smyrna.
Harris is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering and criminal mischief.
He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of an $81,000 cash bond.
Dover police are reporting two people were hurt during an early-morning shooting.
Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at about 2:22 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in the first block of Nicholas Drive, off Route 8.
Police learned a large fight broke out in front of the home during a party, Hoffman said. During the fracas, an unknown black man fired several shots into the crowd, wounding a woman and man in the back.
The two were taken to Bayhealth Hospital’s Kent Campus for treatment; neither injury is considered life-threatening, Hoffman added.
