The Dover Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Donald Buxton, will open its 2018-19 season with a concert at 3 pm. Oct. 13 at Calvary Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

“Baroque and Beyond” features works of two baroque era composers: Bach's “Violin Concerto” with solo work performed by Concertmaster Stefan Xhori, and Handel's “Water Music Suite.” The program will conclude with a performance of Mozart’s “Symphony No. 40” making the transition into the early classical period.

Sweet treats will be sold at a bake sale.

Season tickets are $75 adults, $55 seniors, students, military and first responders. Single-show tickets are $20 adults, $15 seniors, students, military and first responders. Those younger than 18 are free with a paid adult. Tickets are available in advance and at the door.
