A Philadelphia man recently stopped in the Sunoco A-Plus in Claymont and purchased two "$250 Grand" instant game tickets, one of which ended up being a $250,000 winner.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed the prize Sept. 6 at Delaware Lottery Headquarters.

He said he usually purchases two instant game tickets at a time, but he varies which games he plays. He works part-time in Delaware and typically buys Delaware Lottery tickets on his workday commute.

"I scratched the ticket when I left the store, and thought I had won $25," the man said. "I didn't believe it until I went to the kiosk to check my ticket."

The man said that this was the first time he had ever had a big win. When asked if this win would change his life, the man said, "Financially, yes, but it won't change my day-to-day."

"It's very exciting to see such a big win from one of our Instant Games," said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. "In fact, this is the second '$250 Grand' top prize won this summer."

The first "$250 Grand" top prize was claimed on June 26.
