Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, will host its second annual Walk for Water, a 5K Walk/Run to benefit Lifetime Wells International and their quest to drill more wells in Africa, beginning at 9 a.m. Oct. 13.

It is estimated that about 2,000 children die every day as a result of drinking contaminated water, according to a Sept. 5 press release. The lack of clean water, safe and reliable water contributes to poverty and children must transport water instead of attending school.

Registration is $25 per person, available at wyomingumc.com, under the link “Walk for Water.” Each participant will receive a T-shirt on the day of the event. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the church, with the walk/run starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at the church.
