The robbery took place in Williams Park off Nimitz Road.
It took only a day for police to find and arrest a Wilmington man in connection with an Aug. 10 Dover armed robbery.
Detectives were able to identify Tyshaun Blue, 18, as a suspect in the robbery, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said. On Aug. 11, Blue was stopped by Wilmington police and Delaware probation officers on a routine pedestrian check. During that time, they learned Blue was wanted for the robberies and took him into custody without incident. Blue later was turned over to Dover police detectives.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.
Blue has been committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a $72,500 secured bond.
Dover police are investigating an armed robbery where the thief stole two cell phones.
The incident took place at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 in the Williams Park on Nimitz Road, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.
The teens told police a man came up to them, pulled a handgun and demanded their phones. The robber ran off toward Nimitz Road after receiving the devices, Hoffman said.
The suspect is a black man with short hair wearing a dark brown T-shirt, dark blue jeans, dirty red shoes and a tattoo on his right forearm that read “FOE.”
