Wesley College head football coach Chip Knapp recently announced the hiring of Pat Mahoney as the offensive line coach.

Mahoney comes from Division II Concord University where he spent three years in various roles with the Mountain Lions. Last season, Mahoney served as the assistant special team coordinator and tight ends coach. He had a hand in punter Garrett Lee earning 2017 First Team All-American honors by D2Football.com. During his tenure at Concord, Mahoney coached the offensive line, running backs, fullbacks and outside linebackers.

Mahoney began his coaching career at his alma mater Mount Union, where he was an assistant with the defensive line in Spring 2015.

During his playing career at Mount Union, Mahoney played offensive and defensive line. He appeared in 24 games on defense with 33 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his first two seasons with the Purple Raiders.

He moved to the offensive line and started 28 games for his final two seasons at Mount Union. Mahoney was a part of the 2012 NCAA Championship team and made two other championship appearances.

Mahoney graduated from Mount Union in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in sports business. He later earned his Master of Arts in health promotions in 2016.
