Delaware State University will host an observatory open house that will give people a closer look at the stars and planets at 8 p.m. Aug. 18 in the Mishoe Science Center — South on the DSU campus, 1200 N. Dupont Highway, Dover.

A program on astronomy through a presentation titled “A Brief History of the University,” in Room 223 of the Mishoe Science Center — South will kick off the open house. Afterward, visitors will be taken to the observatory where — weather permitting — they will be able to view the night skies through DSU’s telescope.

Visitors can park in Lot 1, located to the north of the campus main entrance. The Mishoe Science Center — South is the second building from the entrance to campus’ pedestrian mall.
