Timothy Safford was wanted in the June 22 murder of Sylvester Lee
Members of the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force have arrested 42-year-old Timothy Safford in connection with a Dover homicide.
Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Safford was taken into custody without resistance at a home on Van Buren St. NW.
Safford was wanted in the June 22 shooting of Sylvester Lee at the Liberty Court apartment complex, Hoffman said. During their investigation, police learned Lee and Safford had gotten into an argument before the shooting. As the two walked toward Lee’s car, Safford allegedly shot him to death.
Safford, who once had a Dover address, was wanted on charges of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited.
He is incarcerated pending extradition to Delaware, Hoffman added.
