July 1 marked the 40th anniversary of a family-owned NAPA Auto Parts business, with stores in Dover and Smyrna.
Charles "Charlie" and Loretta Grimes, sons Keith and Wayne and grandsons Trevor and Kyle gathered outside their store at 29 S. West St., Dover, for a family photo June 27.
"We are truly grateful to our customers and friends throughout Dover and Kent County for their continued support," said Charlie Grimes. “In addition to our family, we have an excellent service-oriented staff who provides parts and accessories for a wide range of vehicles, farm and industrial equipment and everything in between."
NAPA, which has been in Dover since 1945, was purchased by the Grimes family in 1978. The Dover stores have changed locations during that time beginning on Governor's Avenue, moving to Loockerman Street, before moving to its current location in Dover. The Smyrna store, purchased in 1991, moved to it current location at 5 E. Glenwood Ave. in 1996.
