It appeared the burglars made themselves at home while the family was away.

A Dover family made the unpleasant discovery their home had been burglarized during their vacation.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the burglary took place between June 29 and July 8 at a home on Willis Road.

The investigation shows someone got into the home through an unlocked back window and stole money, clothing and shoes. Damage inside the house indicated the burglars had spent some time in the building while the owners were gone.

Hoffman said anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Dover police at 736-7130. Tips may be left anonymously.
