New music from Mr Little Jeans, Welles and Meg Myers
WELLES – 'Hold Me Like I'm Leaving'
Nashville rock band Welles emerged with their debut album Red Trees and White Trashes earlier this month. Premiering on NPR, the album was pronounced as "huge, putting Welles in the same league as the smart bands reviving rock's mainstream right now, like Royal Blood and Greta Van Fleet." Welles just dropped the psychedelic video for "Hold Me Like I'm Leaving," which incorporates lens flares and glitchy visuals for an authentic rock 'n' roll experience.
MEG MYERS – 'Jealous Sea'
Alt-rock melodist Meg Myers first introduced Take Me To The Disco with the highly personal "Numb," an uncomfortable look into her brutal experience with an old label. Out this week is the third single, "Jealous Sea," a menacing track that Myers has described as "A walk on the darker side, but it also shows the beauty in the darkness."
MR LITTLE JEANS – 'Forgetter'
Norwegian songstress Mr Little Jeans (Monica Birkenes) emerges this week with eerie synth-led tune "Forgetter," which is here to remind you that even after a brutal break up, everything is going to be okay. "I wrote ‘Forgetter’ after a devastating break-up. I was severely depressed," explains Monica, "But once I accepted how toxic the relationship had been, my mental state did a 180, almost overnight. I suddenly felt like I had super powers. ‘Forgetter’ is about this journey and the belief that you will survive a fall — no matter how dark."
