Michael S. Scott, of Magnolia, is scheduled for a June 18 court date

A Magnolia resident is due for a court appearance after he allegedly punched out a window with his fist.

Milford Police Department spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten identified the man as 30-year-old Michael S. Scott.

The incident took place June 10 as police went to the Silver Lakes apartment complex to investigate a reported verbal altercation. Officers learned Scott and another person had been yelling at each other, an event that escalated when Scott allegedly broke the window. He also made comments that led the victims to believe he would return with a firearm.

Scott fled before police arrived, Masten said.

He was found after he went to Bayhealth Hospital for an injury to his hand.

In preparing to charge Scott, police also learned the victim had an active domestic violence protection order against him, Masten added.

Scott is charged with criminal contempt of a domestic violence protective order involved the use or threatened use of a deadly weapon, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.

He has been ordered held on a $3,000 secured bail until a June 18 Kent County Family Court appearance.
