The incident happened in the first block of South Governors Avenue

Detectives with the Dover Police Department are investigating a shooting incident in the city.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said police were called at about 10:37 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, to an area in the first block of South Governors Avenue to investigate a report of shots being fired. 

When they arrived, officers located shell casings between two homes in the area and noted an unoccupied vehicle has been struck by gunfire.
