The victim was hit three times.

Officers with the Dover Police Department are investigating an early morning shooting.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday, April 24 in the 200 block of West Reed Street.

The victim, a 42-year-old man was sitting on a front porch when four black men came up to him. One of the suspects pulled a handgun and fired several shots, hitting the victim three times on the leg.

The home also was hit by bullets, but there were no other injuries, Hoffman said.

The victim was treated at Bayhealth Hospital Kent Campus, he added.
