Track personnel lifted the car into place Tuesday morning.

Miles the Monster, Dover International Speedway’s famous concrete mascot, has a new car in his grasp: The No. 10 Smithfield Ford Fusion driven by Aric Almirola for Stewart-Haus Racing.

Track personnel lifted the car into place Tuesday morning.

For the 2018 NASCAR season, Smithfield will continue as the presenting sponsor of the Monster Monument at Victory Plaza.

A similar car, driven by Almirola in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, will be on the track for the “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the Monster Mile on Sunday, May 6.

Almirola has two top-5 and three top-10 finishes in 11 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Dover. He won his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Monster Mile in 2010.

The May 4-6 NASCAR triple-header weekend also includes the “JEGS 200” NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, May 4 and the “OneMain Financial 200” NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash race on Saturday, May 5.

The Monster Monument at Victory Plaza contains the winner’s name from every event in Dover Speedway’s history, including 96 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races, 68 NASCAR Xfinity Series races, 18 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, 17 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races and 14 miscellaneous races.
