Wesley College celebrated Founders Day on April 6 at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover.

Founders Day is an annual tradition for the college that celebrates the founding of Wesley College — established in 1873 — and recognizes donors’ contributions and students’ accomplishments with scholarships and awards.

Wesley College Professor of Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Director Karen Panunto was the featured speaker, sharing Wesley College Milestone moments to celebrate Wesley’s 145th year.

More than $114,000 in scholarship money was awarded to 86 students. Many of the scholarships were merit based and specific to areas of study. In addition, 25 students received academic departmental awards, which recognize applicants that are the top students in each department based on grade point average and other factors.
