40-year-old Christopher Albury arrested.

Delaware State Police arrested a Georgetown man after he led troopers on a pursuit and resisted arrest.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 24, around 9:15 p.m., when a Trooper witnessed a gold, 2004 Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound on Seashore Highway (Route 404), near Cannon Road, with a headlight out. As the trooper activated their emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle, the operator accelerated and a pursuit ensued. Stop sticks were subsequently deployed, bringing the vehicle to a stop on Redden Road, east of Sussex Highway.

The operator and sole occupant, identified as 40-year-old Christopher J. Albury of Georgetown, then ran and a foot pursuit ensued. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. 

Albury was also found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, failure to stop on the command of a police officer and numerous other traffic-related offenses. Albury was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,864 secured bond.
