The Dover High School Interact Club presented a donation to the Veterans Trust Fund on March 16.

Dover High School Principal Courtney Voshell presented the check to Dave Skocik, president of Friends of Delaware Veterans Inc., on behalf of the school’s Interact Club. The Friends of Delaware Veterans Inc is made up of military veterans who volunteer their time and effort to support the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund that provides grants to veterans in emergency need.

Interact, for youth ages 12-18, was created by Rotary International from the words “international” and “action,” reflecting an organization that exists in 177 countries and promotes active service at more than 8,600 clubs worldwide. Interact clubs are affiliated with local Rotary clubs that provide opportunities for students to interact with various levels of society, including schools, community, state, nation and globally to assist others in need.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of developing leadership skills and personal integrity.
