Wesley College Giving Day exceeded its goal of 250 donors in a 24-hour period on Feb. 28.

A total of $25,194 was raised by 267 donors, surpassing last year’s numbers.

“Participation was the most important goal for Wesley Giving Day,” said Director of Development and Alumni Relations Laura Bigham Mayse, Class of ’92. “We are very excited about exceeding our donor goal again and bringing in 65 new donors to the Wesley College family.”

The event was supported by alumni, students, friends, faculty and staff of the College all working together. The Alumni Association pledged to donate $1,000 to student scholarship when the goal was reached or exceeded. In addition, Wesley College President Robert E. Clark II pledged to match the number of donors with dollars.

“Our Wesley College family not only met the goal, but exceeded it,” said Clark. “Wolverines always over achieve and outperform the norm … quite frankly, that’s what we do.”
