Members of the Wesley College women's soccer team partnered with the Food Bank of Delaware, where they packed 500 meals and snacks for school programs and stocked more than 1,800 pounds of food.
"In keeping with the core values of the Wesley women's soccer program, we believe it's important to serve and be engaged with the local community," said head coach Ed Muntz. "I'm so proud of our student-athletes who never hesitate to step up and give back".
"It was a great experience to be able to give back to the community and knowing you're helping others who are less fortunate," said freshman Jaimilyn Snyder.
The Food Bank of Delaware provides food to food pantries, emergency shelters, low-income day care centers, after-school programs, senior centers, churches and other feeding programs. The Food Bank distributed more than nine million pounds of food in 2017.
