Founders and board members of the Melody Joy Foundation gathered at Kent Sussex Industries Inc. recently to present a donation of $5,000 raised from their Dancing in the Streets for Melody fundraiser, held Sept. 24, 2017, in downtown Milford.

Melody Booker-Wilkins, known throughout Kent and Sussex counties, died to cancer in September 2016. In her honor, the Melody Joy Foundation was created so that her desire to help others could continue.

“Mel spent her life helping others grow professionally and personally. She was my mentor, my life coach, my friend. I wanted to keep her memory alive by giving back, and KSI is the best organization we could have chosen to be beneficiary of our first event,” said J.R. Ennis, founder of the Melody Joy Foundation.
