Reagan Garnsey, 11, of Dover, a student at Holy Cross School, was honored for her volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.

The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Holy Cross School nominated Reagan for national honors this fall in recognition of her volunteer service.

Reagan’s volunteer work includes raising nearly $7,000 during the past seven years for Alex’s Lemonade Stand for Childhood Cancer; co-founding the Holy Cross Knitting Club, which has donated hundreds of hats to hospitals and other organizations around the state of Delaware; and co-founding Buckets of Love Foundation, a Delaware 501(c)(3) that provides age appropriate buckets filled with games, crafts, books and other items to children from age 2 to 12 receiving medical care.
