The Daughters of the American Revolution, Col. Haslet Chapter in Dover held a Valentine’s Day social and pizza party for veterans living in Dover Place.

The chapter has been visiting senior living communities and veteran homes since 2008, providing special meals, desserts and gifts to veterans as a way to express their gratitude for those who served our country and protected our freedom.

The chapter was formed in Dover on Jan. 14, 1897. The chapter was named for Col. John Haslet, commander of Delaware's Continental Regiment. DAR members can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution and are dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing our country's future through better education for children.
