Wesley College Chair and Director of Graduate Programs in Occupational Therapy Varleisha Gibbs published a book titled “Self-Regulation and Mindfulness: Over 82 Exercises and Worksheets for Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.”

The book published through PESI Publishing & Media and is sold by Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

The book uses the latest research in neuroscience to help therapists, children and educators learn about their brain and body to help gain the skills needed to self-regulate. Her specific interest lies in kids with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders and cultural competency in treatment interventions. Gibbs was inspired in these areas by her years in private practice.

Gibbs earned her Ph.D. in health sciences from Seton Hall University, her doctorate in occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University, her Master of Science in occupational therapy from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Delaware.

The book is Gibbs’ second; her first book was published in 2013, “Raising Kids with Sensory Processing Disorders.” She co-authored the book with Rondalyn Whitney.
