Herb Konowitz, a founder of the Dover Interfaith Mission, addressed members of the Dover Capital City Rotary Club on Feb. 1.
Konowitz owned Milford Stitching for 50 years before retiring in 2006 and devoted much of his time to community projects, including Dover Interfaith Mission, a men’s homeless shelter and community interfaith organizations thats catered to more than 2,200 men since 2006.
The shelter, 684 Forest St., houses 36 men year-round and addresses their physical, emotional and spiritual needs by providing them with shelter, sustenance, encouragement and a connection to jobs. It relies on contributions, grants and volunteer board members to continue its work. Visit doverinterfaith.org for more information.
Dover Capital City Rotary meets each Thursday for lunch at Maple Dale Country Club, 180 Mapledale Road, Dover.
