The Dover Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Donald Buxton, will launch the second half of its 2017-18 50th anniversary season with a concert at 3 p.m. March 18 at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino Rollins Center, 1131 N. Dupont Highway.
The centerpiece of the Spring Classical Concert will be a performance of the Beethoven Violin
Concerto by Stefan Xhori, concertmaster. Additional works for this concert are Shostakovich’s “Overture Festivo,” Grieg’s “Peer Gynt Suite” and Sibelius’ “Finlandia.”
Valet parking will be available, as will treats from the bake sale.
Admission is $20 adults; $15 seniors, students, military and first responders. Those younger than 18 are free with a paying adult. Tickets will be available online and at the door.
