The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce announced the election of Gary R. Stockbridge as its new chairman of the board of directors.
Stockbridge, region president of Delmarva Power, an Exelon company, was elected chairman, effective after the board’s annual meeting Jan. 8. He succeeds Salvatore J. "Chip" Rossi, of Bank of America.
Stockbridge joined Delmarva Power in 1997 and was named president of Delmarva Power in 2005. Stockbridge has more than 35 years of utility experience across all aspects of the business.
He is the board president for the Workforce Development Board in Delaware, appointed by former-Gov. Jack Markell and currently serving under Gov. John Carney; state chair of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for Delaware; president of the board for United Way of Delaware; chair of the Delaware Vision Coalition of Delaware; chairman of the advisory board for the Chesapeake Bay Council of the Girl Scouts; and chairman of the advisory board for Kingswood Community Center. Stockbridge is also a board member of the Delaware Business Roundtable.
