Bayhealth Milford Memorial recently earned The Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s heart-check mark for advanced certification for primary stroke centers.
Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, was also re-designated as a primary stroke center.
The seal and mark represent symbols of quality from their respective organizations. The designation of primary stroke center means the Bayhealth hospitals have met and seek to maintain The Joint Commission’s standards in providing stroke care and are certified for delivering the next generation of care to stroke patients.
The hospitals underwent on-site review earlier this year. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with stroke-related standards and requirements, including program management, the delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.
