One man distracted the clerk while the other grabbed a phone and ran
Delaware State Police troopers are asking the public’s help in identifying two shoplifting suspects.
Division spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said the incident took Friday, Dec. 15 at the Cell Phone Repair store at 2131 S. Dupont Highway, Dover.
A man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt came in asking about trading a cell phone, Bratz said. Shortly afterward another man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt came in and started talking with the first. He then asked to look at a phone in a locked cabinet.
After the clerk handed over the phone, the man in the gray sweatshirt distracted the clerk, allowing the second man to run out the door, Bratz said. That man got into a blue Monte Carlo with Delaware license number 43690.
A Rose Gold iPhone 6 was stolen, Bratz added.
The first suspect is a bearded black man in his early to mid-20s who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black hat.
The second suspect also is a black man in his early to mid-20s who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspects is asked to call TFC. R. Spanier of Troop 3, Camden at 302-698-8546.
