Ralph Douglas Poore was arrested Dec. 18
Dover police have arrested a Kent County paramedic after he was caught allegedly stalking a former girlfriend.
Ralph Douglas Poore, 55, was taken into custody Monday, Dec. 18 at his workplace, the Kent County Department of Public Safety Building, police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.
The case began at about 7:32 a.m. Monday when Poore allegedly pulled into the driveway of a residence on Stoney Drive, the home of his former girlfriend. Poore drove away when contacted by a neighbor who recognized him. The neighbor was familiar with Poore’s red Mercedes convertible and noted he was wearing his paramedics uniform, Hoffman said.
Poore had been told in August 2016 that the former girlfriend wanted to break off all contact with him after he repeatedly made statements placing her in fear for her safety, Hoffman added. He was arrested in December 2016 by Dover police and charged with a single count of harassment.
For this incident, Poore is charged with a single count of stalking; following an arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court, he was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
UPDATE: Kent County Levy Court spokeswoman Kelly Pitts confirmed that Poore resigned his position with the county Dec. 19.
