The Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus is offering free GED placement screenings for individuals 16-62 years old who have officially withdrawn from high school.
The assessment screenings, which do not require pre-registration, will be offered at 9 a.m. or 5 p.m. Jan. 9, 2018; or 9 a.m. Jan. 10, 2018, in Building 200 on the Del Tech Terry Campus, 100 Campus Drive, Dover. The assessment will last about 3 1/2 hours.
Immediately after the assessment, there will be an information session for individuals 16-24 years old that will provide additional employment training options through the Future Leaders of Business program.
The Future Leaders of Business-Out of School Youth program is offered at no cost through a partnership with the state’s Department of Labor Workforce Development Board. Students will also have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills and enhance marketability and competitiveness in the workplace through job skills training.
Future Leaders of Business participants will work towards obtaining a GED and earn industry-recognized certificates, participate in employability life skills training and leadership development opportunities, take financial literacy workshops and complete on-the-job training through paid work experiences.
