The Delaware Department of Transportation announced its contractor, A-Del Construction, will set bridge beams for the new state Route 1 South Frederica Grade Separated Intersection Project, requiring the nighttime closure of state Route 1 northbound and southbound.

State Route 1 southbound will close at Exit 86/state Route 12/Frederica Road and Tub Mill Pond Road from 10 p.m. Dec. 12 until 5 a.m. Dec. 13.

State Route 1 northbound and southbound will close at Exit 86/state Route 12/Frederica Road and Tub Mill Pond Road and Milford Neck Road from 10 p.m. Dec. 13 until 5 a.m. Dec. 14.

Southbound motorists will take Exit 86/North Frederica and continue to state Route 12/Frederica Road and proceed through the town of Frederica onto Frederica Road, turn left onto Tub Mill Pond Road, turn right onto state Route 1 southbound.

Northbound motorists should follow the signs and maintenance of traffic devices on-site, which will direct northbound traffic onto state Route 1 southbound while beams are being set.

Detour signage will be posted.
