Dover police are investigating the reported robbery of two women Saturday evening, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The incident took place at about 7:48 p.m. while the pair were walking south on North Bradford Street, near Mary Street. The women told police a man jumped out from behind nearby bushes with his hands drawn and pointed at them. The women, ages 20 and 22, thought he was holding a weapon and complied with his demands they hand over their cash.

He then fled on a bicycle, Hoffman said.

The suspect only was described as a light- to medium-complexioned black man wearing a goatee. He stood about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin, medium build and was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt.

Police are continuing their investigation; anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Dover police at 736-7111. Tips may be left anonymously.
